Math and Peanut Butter

Last week Mitchell was continuing his practice of counting by 2's. So, the lesson suggested we buy peanuts so he could open them up and record the peanuts and count by 2's. It also suggested that if he found a shell with 1 or 3 nuts inside he could eat them. Well, we did...YUCK!
It was then I discovered that the peanuts were RAW! We had to stop and roast them to enjoy the extras...sheesh, I should have paid attention when purchasing those things.
The following day we practiced reading a recipe and measuring by making peanut butter from those, now yummy, roasted peanuts! The peanut butter is GOOD and just a little crunchy.
